Track Specifier Intent & Benchmark Your Performance with CADdetails Analytics

Written by CADdetails | Sep 10, 2026, 7:42:16 PM

The CADdetails Analytics dashboard delivers detailed, intent-driven metrics that turn raw engagement into actionable, proprietary insight, showing you not just who's interacting with your products, but what that interaction signals about their buying intent. Plus, new product category benchmarks let you see whether you're leading, on par with, or below the platform average, and where there's room for improvement.

It's new dashboard is organized into three powerful tabs—Overview, Product Intelligence, and Firm Intelligence—each built to answer a different business question. Together, these tabs give you a complete picture of engagement, from broad trends down to the individual firms actively considering your products.

In this post, we’ll cover:

  • Why data analytics matters
  • A detailed breakdown of the new dashboard
  • Top 3 benefits of CADdetails Analytics
  • What’s next for CADdetails Analytics

Why Data Analytics Matters

At its core, data analytics transforms raw data into practical, actionable insight. It involves analyzing data to uncover trends and patterns, then drawing meaningful conclusions that strengthen your marketing strategy and reveal opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.

A robust analytics solution helps you better understand your customers' behavior, proactively identify areas to improve their experience, and make decisions grounded in data rather than guesswork and assumptions. Instead of reacting after a sale is lost or a specification falls through, you can spot the signals earlier and act on them while there's still an opportunity to influence the outcome.

Why does this matter to building product manufacturers specifically?

Because the specification process is long, competitive, and largely invisible. Specifiers research, compare, and shortlist products long before a manufacturer ever hears from them directly. Without data, manufacturers are left guessing which firms are actively considering their products, which content is actually driving interest, and where to focus limited sales and marketing resources. Analytics closes that gap, turning an opaque process into one you can measure, prioritize, and act on.

Detailed Breakdown of the New Dashboard

The new CADdetails Analytics is broken down into three sections:

1. Overview

This tab gives you a high-level pulse on overall engagement and performance trends, so you can quickly gauge momentum across your entire product portfolio.

Here are the KPIs you can track:

  • Impressions
  • Clicks
  • Downloads
  • Unique users
  • Active forms

You can track all of these KPIs over time in the graph, and select multiple KPIs at once to see how they compare to each other.

In this Overview tab, you'll also find:

  • Audience Profession Split: Shows which professional roles are engaging with your products the most (e.g., architects vs. engineers), helping your sales team know whom to target during outreach.

  • Top Performing Products & Projects: Lists the top 25 products and projects based on high-intent conversion events (clicks and downloads) during the specified period.

  • Asset Type Distribution: A pie chart showing the distribution of downloaded content types (CAD, BIM, 3D, etc.) during the selected date range.

  • Market Activity: Platform-wide engagement data by product type.

  • Firm Intelligence Preview: A snapshot of the top 10 firms from your Firm Intelligence tab.

2. Product Intelligence

This tab benchmarks your performance against the broader category, so you can see not just how your content is doing, but how it's doing relative to everyone else in your space.

It includes:

  • Product Type Filter: Select any number of relevant product types to focus your analysis.

  • KPIs: Impressions, Clicks, and Downloads shown at the top of this tab are additive totals across all selected product types for the period.

  • Comparative Metrics: For a selected KPI, compares your performance for the selected product type(s) against the platform average for that same product type.

  • Audience Profession Split: Shows the platform-wide average count of users in each profession active for your selected product types and period.

  • Asset Type Demand: This chart shows which asset types (CAD, BIM, 3D, specs, product media) resonate most with users for those product types.

3. Firm Intelligence

This tab ranks the design firms engaging with your content according to their intent scores, which indocates how likely the firm is to click on or download your product content. This gives your marketing and sales team the visibility to prioritize outreach and connect with high-intent prospects at the right time.

A panel on the right side of the Leaderboard previews all users associated with firms on your entire leaderboard. You can click any firm name in the table to filter this panel to that firm's relevant users.

The following filter options are included to help you segment the results and obtain specific insights:

  • Country
  • State/Province
  • Profession
  • Product Category

You can also click "View Full Leaderboard" to open a modal showing all top 250 firms with full metadata. This view is sortable, filterable, exportable, and shows week-over-week rank changes for each firm.

This tab also includes an Audience Map, which visualizes the Leaderboard. Filters applied to the Leaderboard automatically update the map, surfacing trends in AEC user engagement by geography, profession, and product category.
